New Dual-Screen Surface Devices

In what is the more exciting devices announced today, we’ll start with the two dual-screen folding Surface devices Microsoft announced and showed off today.

Surface Duo

The Surface Duo is a dual-screen foldable device meant to fit in your pocket. It’s powered by Android and has two 5.6-inch screens that, when unfolded, expand into a larger 8.3-inch device. And it even makes phone calls. Microsoft says it’s not going to be available until “Holidays 2020”, though. 

Surface Neo

The other dual-screen foldable that Microsoft announced today is dubbed the Surface Neo. It is larger with two 9-inch screens that fold out into a full-size 13-inch display. Inside is an Intel chipset. It also includes a thin physical keyboard and an optional new Surface Slim Pen. Like the Duo, the Neo will not be available until the holidays next year. 

Other New Microsoft Surface PCs

The company announced several new Surface computers that are upgrades or variants of its existing Surface line.

Surface Pro 7

The Surface Pro 7 sticks with the classic Surface Pro design and offers laptop-class performance with a new 10th generation Intel Core processor. It also comes with USB-C and USB-A ports. Like previous Surface lines, you can start with an entry model or max it out.

Surface Pro X

This is Microsoft’s new generation Surface Pro design and is ultra-thin. It also features the new Surface Slim Pen and Surface Pro X Signature Keyboard. 

Surface Laptop 3

The Surface Laptop 3 comes in a 15-inch and 13-inch version and is also powered by a 10th generation Intel Core processor. It also features a new Alcatara or all-metal finish. The entry 13-inch version starts at $999 with the 15-inch version starting at $1199.

Surface Earbuds

Windows 10X

In addition to the new hardware above, Microsoft also announced a new variant of Windows 10 that will power its Surface Neo as well as other third-party dual-screen foldable PCs. It’s called Windows 10X and is a stripped-down version of traditional Windows 10 that will also run “regular” laptop and desktop apps in a container with extra security.
