When you spend as much time in front of the computer as we do, it’s nice to add a little variety to your system. One way to do this is by changing your Windows 7 Theme. A theme is a combination of photos, colors, and sounds combined to create rotating desktop backgrounds, screen savers, and a sound scheme. Some even include new desktop icons and mouse pointers. So, being that it’s Friday, let’s change the scenery up a bit by applying some new free Windows 7 themes.
Download Windows 7 Themes
Visit the Microsoft Windows 7 themes gallery to start your search for a theme that matches your Friday mood. All the themes are free (for personal use), and the selection is quite extensive. They include everything from Movies, Games, and Brands as well as Seasons and Places.
For summer, my personal favorite theme is the amazing surfing theme. The shots are just amazing, and it honestly makes me pause and smile each time I see the imagery on my desktop.
A close second would be the sailing theme. With even more great summer-related shots and pictures of the sea from dusk ‘till dawn, this is a theme you’ll surely like.
Installing a theme is simple. Once you’ve found the theme you want to apply to your system, click the Download button.
Save the Theme when prompted.
Open the Theme once the download is finished.
Windows will automatically decompress the theme and set it as your new theme.
To select a different Windows 7 theme you already have installed or check out what themes you might already have, right-click the Desktop and click Personalize.
